• Acting Head of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from 1 May -30 September  2004
• Head of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from 1 October 2004- 31 July 2013. This department is large: 60 academic staff.
• Chairperson of the School of Mathematical Sciences (consisting of the Department of Actuarial Science, Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and Department of Statistics) from 1 January 2005 – 30 November 2009
• Member of the Exceptional Achiever (Academic) Awards Committee in 2011.
• Senate Representative  on the Institutional Forum 2011-2019

• Initiator of the MOU for partnership between the School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (Wits), the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Dschang, Cameroon), and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Kinshasa, DR Congo).
